Your majesty, welcome to our Vincennes abode! This tour has the immense honour of allowing you, with or without a guide or audioguide, to visit the apartments as well as the Salle du Conseil (boardroom) and your majesty’s study. Don’t leave without popping to see the Sainte-Chapelle with its majestic rose window and stained-glass windows which have been restored. If you like heights, you really must join one of the guided tours of the upper floors of the keep and the Sainte-Chapelle attic. You can, of course, take something home with you from the souvenir shop which is full of beautiful objects, books and postcards. A royal experience indeed!

Military history for all to see!

Fascinated by the great battles of history? Then go to the heritage library of the Service Historique de la Défense. It’s open to all, it’s free, and you can stay as long as you like!Browse the 140 km of archive shelves and take all the time you need to view the cards, manuscripts and periodicals in the comfort of the superb Louis XIV reading room decorated with paintings from the same period and ancient chandeliers. Worth noting: a few times a year, the library organises special guided tours during which some rare documents are revealed just for the occasion.
